Concern about a Person in a Position of Trust

A Person in a Position of Trust (PiPoT) is anyone who works or volunteers with adults with care and support needs.

Where there is an allegation or concern about an adult who works or volunteers in a position of trust with adults with care and support needs, employers, student bodies and voluntary organisation should have clear procedures in place setting out the process, including timescales, for investigation and what support and advice will be available to individuals against whom allegations have been made.

PIPOT Framework

This document provides a high-level, overarching framework on the approach and process to follow when responding to allegations and concerns relating to people who work in a Position of Trust (PoT) with adults who have care and support needs.
