There are two data processing principals that apply to Birmingham Safeguarding Adult Board (BSAB) activity to ensure BSAB remains GDPR compliant. These affect how BSAB undertake work on Safeguarding Adult Boards (SABs) and how BSAB completes Safeguarding Adults Reviews (SARs).

These two principals are:

  1. Processing of data  is necessary for compliance with a legal obligation to which the controller is subject, e.g. SAR; and
  2. Processing data is necessary for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest or in the exercise of official authority vested in the controller, e.g. QA activity.

The controller in this instance is those staff members who work for BSAB.
