The first national analysis of learning from Safeguarding Adults Reviews in England was funded by the Care and Health Improvement Programme.

The Care and Health Improvement Programme was supported by the Local Government Association and the Association of Directors of Adult Social Services. Carried out during 2020, its purpose was to identify priorities for sector-led improvement in adult safeguarding.

The report is being launched at a national webinar at which the authors will present key findings from the study, to which 98% of Safeguarding Adults Boards in England contributed material. The resulting analysis of 231 SARs across all types of abuse and neglect provides a significant body of evidence on which to base recommended priorities for sector-led improvement.
