The Birmingham Safeguarding Adults Board is hosting a Practitioner Forum for frontline workers to explore practice challenges in supporting adults who are at risk of fire. The forum will consider barriers to engagement, factors that may increase fire risk, and the complexities practitioners may encounter when working with adults with care and support needs in Birmingham, with a focus on prevention, risk reduction, and safeguarding.
The session will bring together frontline workers from various agencies across Birmingham.
The session will be facilitated by professionals from across the Safeguarding Adults Partnership in Birmingham.
This will be a discussion based session where practitioners will have an opportunity to share examples of good practice, explore issues and barriers encountered when working with adults. Reflect on approaches to support individuals and the importance of multi-agency working/meetings and risk escalation.
The face to face event is taking place Wednesday 16th September 2026 from 13:00 - 16:30 at West Midlands Fire Station, 99 Vauxhall Road, Birmingham, B7 4HW
